Integrative Therapy and DDP in Brighton & Hove
Supporting emotional health, wellbeing and growth in adults and children.
Welcome
I’m Louise, a BACP registered therapist and certified DDP practitioner.
The prospect of embarking upon therapy can be a daunting one. Perhaps your struggles are based on things happening in the ‘here and now’. Or, maybe you have been suffering for as long as you can remember.
I work with both adults and children, drawing upon my many years of experience with both age groups to provide individual and dyadic therapy in the Brighton & Hove area.
Online therapy for young people or adults is also available, if this is more convenient for you.
I understand that starting therapy is a big step, and am very happy to provide a free 30-minute consultation to see if I am the right fit for you.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I might be able to help.
Warm regards,
MBACP, Certified DPP Practitioner
Integrative Therapy
As an integrative therapist, I have been trained in multiple modalities including humanistic, person-centred, behavioural and psychodynamic.
Working with an integrative therapist means that I am able to use different ways of being and creative media, honouring your individual needs and circumstances, and working with you to determine a therapy approach that will resonate.
Integrative therapy can help with many issues or conditions, including:
Low mood and depression
Anxiety and worry
Loss and grief
Adverse childhood experiences
Relational trauma
Relationship difficulties
Dyadic Development Practice (DDP)
I am a long-standing, fully certified DDP Practitioner.
DDP is a therapeutic modality that brings together attachment theory, what we understand about developmental trauma, the neurobiology of trauma, attachment and caregiving, intersubjectivity theory and child development.
Upon its arrival in the UK, I was fortunate to be part of one of the first Attachment teams here in Brighton & Hove, under the skilful direction of Dr Paul Holmes. I am a provider for Adoption South East and the Kinship care team, and so can work with those fostered, adopted, in kinship care or under SGOs.
I can use DDP as a way of being in our work together if there is relational trauma or loss in the mix. This work would sometimes involve your partner, parent or carer or child.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
I am pleased to announce that I will soon be able to offer animal assisted therapy with my dog, Marley.
Marley is currently undergoing official Therapy Dog training with PAWS, one of the UK's leading authorities on Animal Assisted Learning and Animal Assisted Interventions.
Marley will make occasional visits in training, so you may well see him in the clinic!
